Stroke Clinic

Dates: Sept 9-18, 6-7 pm
8 Nights: Mon-Fri Sept 9-13 & Mon-Wed Sept 16-18
Program to help youth hone their swimming skills. Focus on a specific stroke and aspect of the sport each night.
Cost: $63 first swimmer
$42 each additional sibling swimmer

Requirements: Suit and Goggles
Must be able to swim length of pool with face in water. This is an advanced lesson group for kids who know strokes and how to swim

Water Polo Conditioning League

Dates: Practice 3x/week September 19-November 23
Tuesdays 6p-7:30
Thursdays 6p-7:30
Saturdays 10a-Noon
Prepare for your winter sport. Water provides resistance conditioning utilizing activities like swimming, treading water and throwing; but you’ll be so busy having fun you won’t notice how hard you’re working!
Cost: $155
Includes USA Swimming and team fees. Intramural Polo Games included during practice times; no swim meets.
Requirements: Suit
Participants must know how to swim and tread water for extended length.
Goggles encouraged for swimming sets.

Newton Nitros Swim Club (Swim Newton Inc) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1996 with the goal of helping  team members develop and refine their swimming skills.  Swimmers practice year-round at the Newton High School pool and at the Newton Municipal Pool during summer months. Newton Nitros Swim club participates in the Missouri Valley Division of United States Swimming. Nitros swimmers have the opportunity to develop and excel while participating in USS sanctioned swim meets. As swimmers progress and achieve qualifying times, they may participate in Missouri Valley and USS Championships. Nitros have competed in District MV Championships, Missouri Valley Championships, Central Zones, Sectionals, and Junior National competitions.  There have also been several swimmers go on to participate as scholarship athletes at the NCAA Division I and II University level.
