2022- Swim Newton Head coach
2021-2022 Swim Newton Swim School Director
2008-2020, 2022 Hesston Wahoo Head Coach

Renee Ewert comes to Swim Newton with 14 years of coaching experience. Coach Renee has mentored over 300 swimmers in her summer league career. Her team captured the League title in 2018 and 2019, and would have had the 3peat, had it not been for the meet cancellation in 2020 due to Covid. With a BS in Elementary Education, her coaching philosophy is grounded in fundamentals. She brings stroke knowledge not only from coaching experience, but as a Water Safety Instructor and Trainer for the last 6 years.

Many hours were spent in her parent’s backyard pool, stoking her passion for swim from an early age. She hopes to pass on her love of swimming and is intentional about helping every swimmer reach their potential, whether it be to learn the strokes or set a best time at a championship meet.
Coach Renee believes swimming teaches youth more than a lifelong sport. Swimmers gain experience in work ethic, perseverance, goal setting, winning graciously and overcoming disappointment. ‘Whether a swimmer chooses to join us all year, or for a 5-week season, I hope Swim Newton is a place for our youth to have fun, learn life skills and gain self-esteem through the discipline of swim.’

Personal
Coach Renee lives in Hesston with her husband Jon. Their daughter Angela attends Hesston High and has been a club swimmer in Newton since the age of 8. Her grown children Titus and Kayla also swam in Newton for the club team during their junior high years.
